Fall is one of the most beautiful times of the year. When fall arrives, so do the core memories of pumpkin picking, the sweet scent of apple and cinnamon, and the crunch of fall leaves. Skelly’s Farm Market is a perfect place for fall fun-filled activities. Keep reading for a perfect day at Skelly’s!

The first thing to know: Skelly’s Farm Market is open daily at 9 AM to 6 PM through October 31. There is no general admission price to Skelly’s Farm Market, but some of the activities have an additional cost including the corn mazes, wagon rides, and apple cannons. However, there are package deals available to both save money and experience the best of Skelly’s!

1. Pick up a hot or iced beverage inside the newly built addition:

Start your morning with a hot apple cider or hot chocolate, or maybe an iced Nordskov Coffee cold brew!

2. Venture into the corn mazes:

Since 1998, Skelly’s has hosted a corn maze each fall, making them one of the oldest corn mazes in the whole country. The farm offers not just one, but TWO completely unique corn mazes you won’t find anywhere else. When you purchase a maze wristband, you can check out both corn mazes for two completely different adventures. The staff recommends about two hours to complete the mazes if you plan to do both.

Squashees Adventure Maze: perfect for both families and adults at 6 acres with 2 miles of paths

This maze combines a corn maze, escape room, and clue-like game all in one epic puzzle. Solve the puzzle to find the combo to unlock an actual door to reveal the ending surprise! For teens and adults, play the Advanced Escape version, where you solve 5 additional escape room-like puzzles as you navigate the maze. Don’t worry about getting too stuck though – the exclusive in-maze app includes hints and even GPS for those who might need a little extra help.

The Impossible Maze: geared a bit more towards adults at 9 acres with 3.5 miles of paths

This maze is meant to be as challenging as possible, playing like a real-life video game. The game invites you to choose what animal you want to raise by feeding it fresh fruits and vegetables hidden in the maze. The harder the food is to find, the more you will level up your animal as it grows before your eyes. Who knows, if you score high enough, you could end up being the Fair Grand Champion!

3. Play on the playgrounds and try the Apple Cannon

The farm’s playground is a unique one-of-a-kind area that has all hand-built play structures, fun for all ages. Nearby, you can send apples sailing through the air with the press of a button. Try to hit one of the targets in the field!

4. Circle back to the bakery for a sweet treat

If you’re craving something sweet this fall, see what’s been freshly baked at their in-house bakery! For some classics and new favorites:

  • Apple cider and pumpkin donuts: freshly baked every day and sprinkled with sugar (the #1 seller!)
  • Caramel apples: locally grown apples coated with plain caramel or extra sweet toppings like peanuts or sprinkles
  • Loaded apple cider float: made with fresh apple cider, vanilla ice cream, caramel drizzle, and an apple cider donut on top
  • Pumpkin bubble waffle dessert: bubble waffle made with homemade pumpkin donut batter, with seasonal or vanilla ice cream, caramel topping, and whipped cream
  • Tracy’s homemade sweet breads: a variety of flavors like pumpkin bread with a maple glaze, apple cider donut bread, brown sugar cinnamon apple bread, and pumpkin cardamom with a coffee glaze

The retail side is also full of packaged or jarred foods like jams, fruit butters, and pickled veggies, plus cute home decor or gift ideas like candles, wall art, tote bags, and so much more.

5. Hitch a ride on the wagon

This choose-your-own-adventure wagon ride follows the story of Farmer Jack. Riders can vote for what happens in Jack’s adventure. The ride lasts about 20 minutes and is good for all ages and unlimited rides all day!

6. Find your perfect pumpkin

End the day with a short walk to the farm’s 20-acre pumpkin patch. Find the perfect pumpkins for carving in the patch or explore the many varieties of pumpkins, gourds, and squash near the front of the building. Borrow one of the red wagons to easily haul your pumpkins back to your car.

Try it all or mix and match to plan your ideal fall day at Skelly’s Farm Market this October. Visiting Skelly’s Farm Market is the perfect fall outing for families, couples, and friends to enjoy seasonal fun, delicious treats, and beautiful countryside views.
